Blog Post #1
The background of my blog is shown with books
including a wide range of colors. According to color psychology, there are
groups that prefer warm colors (red, yellow, and orange) and there are also
groups that prefer cool colors (blue, green, and purple). I picked the
different colored books because they matched the preferences of each group and
therefore establishes a common ground. This allows me to appeal to my audience
at a more high level exemplifying my actions of promoting diversity through
this blog. Furthermore, the books signal my passion for learning and reading;
therefore, this tells my audience that I am a knowledgeable source.
Additionally, my adjusted title color is warm green. I believe this sort of hue
prescribes to a more calm and welcoming tone to my blog. The color of hypertext
links also show a sense of quietness. The original hypertext link emits as a
light green color similar to the color of the page; the welcoming tone of the
color gives the audience the motivation to check out the link. If the audience
hovers over the hypertext link with the cursor, they can see a more slightly
dark green which makes the audience more curious as to what the link might lead
into. Overall, the color scheme mainly follows a more light green because it represents
my interest of nature. This color scheme soothes the audience when they are
reading my blog after a stressful workday. The color scheme of this blog allows
me to connect with the audience at more personal level.
Moreover, the text font also gives a warmer feel to
the overall blog. My blog title incorporates the Calligraffiti font, which is simply cursive writing that can be
deciphered easily with a huge sized text. The conventional wisdom of cursive
writing is that it carries a philosophical and natural feel. Since these two
words “philosophical” and “nature” fit into my characteristics, I decided to
incorporate this font for my readers to take me in as a person with wisdom. I
wished to keep the normal text within the font of Times New Roman as it is a text that is readable and also simple.
The character of simple fits in with me as a person. The idea of simplicity
does not overwhelm the blogs viewers and also the font allows for the reader to
interpret the information at a fast rate. The font within my blog reveals my
welcoming nature allowing for the viewers to easily get attracted to the
information.
