Final
Reflection
As a student, I feel like I have undergone drastic
changes in the way I write and perceive texts. With a story such as the Brave
New World, I am only able to observe its shallow meaning; however, through reinforced
reading in class I was able to understand the intricacies that it contained. There
is a culture of its own that has been brilliantly crafted by Aldous Huxley,
which is simply impeccable to the current standards of writing. Therefore, I feel that my reading of texts has
grown more in-depth.
I feel that my writing has went to some great bounds
compared to that of freshman year. I was able to go from correcting simple
grammar mistakes, to formatting complex ideals. With my discussion with Ms.
Wilson, I was able to understand the art of forming the complex idea. This initially
started with the Hamlet essay and then proceeded with the Brave New World
Essay.
Moreover, through this class I was able to see
entertainment in a more productive fashion. It was not simply about the actors
or the beautiful visual effects. The viewer had to focus on how the message is
being conveyed, and whether it is being conveyed effectively. Therefore, after
this class I feel as if I have transformed into an artful critic. When seeing
Hamlet and What Dreams May Come, I understood the complexity of its message
more than that of the beautiful visual effects. Furthermore, this class has
forced me to be immersed within the artful experience of literature.
